Healing Past Hurts (Origins Series)
As we wrap up the Book of Genesis, Chapter 50 shows us that the past can no longer hurt us but our feelings about the past can. Unless our past hurts are healed by God’s grace, they will
hinder our present relationships with both
Him and others. |

Fortune Telling (Origins Series)
Jacob is on his death bed with his family gathered around him and he looks into the eyes of each of his sons and predicts their future based on their past. The lesson to be learned here is
that we are creatures of habit. Our futures won’t be any different from our past unless there is change. |

Financial Freedom (Origins Series)
Financial freedom is 80% behavior and 20% head knowledge. All that I have is given by God (1 Cor. 4:7). All that I need is promised by God (Phil. 4:19). All that I give is rewarded by God
(Luke 6:38). All that I do is responsible to God (Rom.14:12). |

Fatal Attractions (Origins Series)
The story of Joseph is the story of the Providence of God: Silence is not absence and hiding is not impotence with God. God is working in our lives whether we see Him or not. In Genesis 37 we saw how
that is true in Joseph’s sin and suffering. In Genesis 39 we will see how that is true in Joseph’s trials and temptations. |

Sex and the City (Origins Series)
With the story of Joseph just getting under way (Gen. 37) there’s seems to be an unnecessary interruption to this thickening plot. Genesis 38 is the sordid story of Judah’s sin with his daughter in-law
Tamar. This interruption is no accident it gives us a striking contrast between Judah’s sexually promiscuous life and Joseph’s sexually pure life (Gen. 39). Though Judah is free he is a slave to his own
sinful desires and though Joseph is a slave he is free because he lives his life for God’s Glory. |

It is called falling away, back sliding, spiritual erosion or becoming lukewarm. It is the silent toll of spiritual decay. Slowly, almost unperceivable, certain things are accepted that were once

Stairway to Heaven (Origins Series)
People defect from the faith usually for one of two reasons: deceived by the pleasures of life or disillusioned
by the pressures of life. Disillusionment is the child of illusions about God. Where is God when life hurts? Does He care? If he does than what is He up to? There is something worse than disappointment
with God and that’s disappointment without God. |
