Wow that really is sad but God will judge those because he knows their heart.

@Ashley, no one is saying that we can't have nice things but that we should be a good steward of what God gives us. It does take a lot of money to manage ministries but when those that are in charge of the money are driving around in 100K+ cars and living in multi million dollar mansions then we should call them out because many are decieved by a gospel of wealth.

I believe it is a sad thing that is happening to ministries today. Does anyone realize how much money it takes to run these programs? Or the fact that every one of those ministers receive a pay check. It has been proven that they are not using ministry funds. What business do we have in telling them that they cant purchase what they want with their pay check? No one gets upset with Donald Trump or a movie star when they have nice things. Somehow when we are serving God, it is thought that we should not have nice things. Why should the world and not God? I personally will continue to give. My donation is helping people. I will not let the devil rob my joy and blessings-plus the blessings of those who will receive it. It sounds like he is already doing that with the bitterness in other people's hearts.

Thank you for taking the time to share and clarify your story, Cindy. I wholeheartedly agree with you that many of these tele-evangelists are abusing the system and are not being good stewards of the monies being given to them.

While I believe in the blessing of God, the "wealth gospel" that is being preached in many churches is not the gospel itself but rather as Paul wrote - "the tickling of the ears." In fact, I left a church of 11 plus years because its preacher began to preach only "God wants to make you rich" type of sermons. Now I am in a church that is well balanced in what is taught and they are also an open book as to where monies are spent.

I would encourage Christians everywhere to give to their local church - the place where they attend and worship, where they are involved and where they know that the monies are being put to good use.

My first comment is that I have not been giving to God for all the wrong reasons! This story was presented a little out of context. I was being DECEIVED by most of these televangelists appeals for money. I watched them night after night, believing that they were hearing from God, listened to them twisting scriptures, gave to their ministries sacrificially(planting SEEDS for a HARVEST)some 60, some 80, some 100 fold, pressed down shaken together & running over will God give back wherewith I wouldn't have room to contain it, they would say!

Then I find out that the monies may have not gone where I was told it was going to go. When I sent in money to feed the hungry for the holidays, the food was never purchased to give out. The money that I pledged to help the kids in Cambodia, may have been used to furnish the Joyce Meyer Ministries headquarters with a $13,000 marble toilet seat or a pair of Dresden Vases for $10,000 or maybe that $17,000 couch. I don't care how many audits that are put out there. Some of these ministers have set up corporations to funnel the donation money into their own bank account. People gave their homes to the ministry & they ended up in the ministers hands. There are public documents to back this up.

My sacrificial giving must have been a joke to some of these ministries!! The money I sent to feed a family of four may have been used to buy a Bentley tax exempt for a preacher who didn't even have a need for it.

This is what I am angry & bitter about-not that I have not obtained financial success as promised by their false teachings. God has blessed me abundantly & its not always materially. Only the Televangelists receive those material blessings with your money & mine. I know it all belongs to God but I'm sure He is not speaking to all of these televangelists like they say He is!

These ministries need their tax exempt status investigated. These false teachers will be the ones to bring persecution to the entire Body of Christ.

Sincerely,
Cindy L Fleenor
