Lee,

I'll definitely have to check out the book. I agree with Ty's point here as well.

Though I do think a lot can be done during the time we have our children under our own roof. There are a number of years prior to going off to college that we can help our kids build a good, solid foundation of faith so that they are prepared to withstand the attacks of the world.

As young teenagers, especially throughout high school years, it seems that teens are very socially and politically aware. Not necessarily knowledgeable or experienced, but they are often fascinated by these things.

It's a good time to dig in deep with them and help them to understand exactly WHY their faith is reasonable and rational and makes sense. We can show them through means of history, science, nature, philosophy and theology how they can be certain about their faith so that when they get to these colleges, they are nigh-unshakable in the faith.

At the same time, I'm hoping your book will help those who perhaps are not sure if they've laid as solid a foundation so that they can make sure their kids have a better chance of avoiding getting their faith clobbered.

I look forward to checking it out!

In relation to faith, youth, parents, and college, it has been my observation that too many Christian parents are willing to send their child to a godless/atheistic college at a crucial time in the child's life. It's no wonder so many lose their faith.

I am a College Financial Aid Planner, and I see the lack of commitment to the Christian faith manifested in this way on a regular basis. It has saddened and surprised me.

For this and other reasons I wrote a book called "A Heavenly College Education on an Earthly Budget."

It is a personal passion and ministry of mine to get the word out to parents about the consequences of not helping their child gain a conviction and commitment to the faith early on and through the college years.

The book is available on my website www.leemartinson.com or on sites such as Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
