We as parents have the right and the GOD given duty to train up our children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it. proverbs 22:6. The WORD OF GOD says; If one can chase a thousand two can put ten thousand to a flight. We should not compromise with the enemy, neither should we accept the doctrine of devils. There are enough christians in the world to take a stand against this heresy. We are living in the final hour now and satan is bringing out the heavy artillery to bring as many as he can to eternal doom which is his destiny. Prayer is the key. Remember SAINTS, Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.JESUS gave us the authority to destroy ALL, the works of the devil, and nothing shall be impossible to us. Lets touch and agree that this will be turned around.GOD loves every one of us, but HE doesn't love the sin.

Norni,

I honestly can't figure out how you interpreted my response the way you seem to have. As I stated, this is not an issue that I can just conveniently ignore with my children. Sure, I'll admit that there is a part of me that kind of wishes I could, but because of my family situation, I don't have that choice. So, for you to say that it sounds like I might never tell them at all tells me that you didn't read my response very well.

That observation is supported by the fact that you seem to think that I preach hatred toward the gay community. Again, you apparently did not read my post very thoroughly. I don't preach hatred to anyone and if you see a "Christian" who does so, then they are not preaching the message of Christ and are misrepresenting Christianity as a whole. Sadly, this seems to be a pretty common problem today, as documented in David Kinnaman's book, unChristian.

As you point out, I am always concerned with moral values. However, teaching someone how democracy or the justice system works is not a moral issue. So, I'm not sure how that connection was made. Those are no more moral issues than describing how a combustion engine works.

Finally, perhaps you don't recognize how hypocritical it is to judge me as being judgmental and to argue that I'm "indoctrinating" my family with what I believe to be true solely because I don't want to indoctrinate them with what YOU believe to be true.

Perhaps it would be better instead to treat one another with respect and avoid false assumptions and jumping to conclusions. Hopefully, I have not made you feel disrespected in any way as that is not my intention.

Different people believe different things. I will do my best to hold accountable those people who believe as I do and I would expect them to do the same for me. If you do not accept Christ as Lord and Savior and do not submit to the authority of God's Word, then it is not my place to judge your life or your choices.

All I can do in that case is tell you the God loves you and that He has the gift of Life available to you, should you accept it. If you don't accept it, that is your choice as a free-willed human being.

Regardless, whether you believe or not, I believe we are all created by God in His image and therefore I will resolve to extend the love and grace of Christ.

Grace, love and peace.

Dan C.: I take it you have no problems at all with schools teaching your kids about democracy and the justice system. Which is weird since you seem to be deeply concerned of issues regarding "right or wrong".

Heck, it almost sounds like you want to teach your kids how wrong homosexuality is, or better yet, never tell them at all.

The problems with many Christians is that they get their news from highly biased sources like this very blog, FOX news and "Christian Web News" which preaches hate more than anything else. They want you to think that someone gaying around with another will somehow effect your way of life, and you swallow it all up.

Please don't indoctrinate your children with silly fairy-tales, but let them decide for themselves when they are old enough to know better than you.

Norni,

I'm not sure that this article is about whether or not Christians should respect others. In fact, I think it's precisely the opposite. If someone wants to teach children about math, chemistry, history, grammar and such then I don't hesitate to allow trained educators to do so.

However, when it comes to things that begin to effect perceptions of what is considered right and wrong, I'd rather not leave that in someone else's hands. I would prefer to train my children and teach them what I believe is right and wrong (and, more importantly why I believe that) and then to teach them how to have grace and understanding with those who may disagree.

It would seem to me that the issue here is not whether nor not children should learn about alternative lifestyles. The issue is who is doing the teaching, how it's being taught and what, precisely, is being taught.

For me, personally, it will be a topic that I have no choice but to carefully discuss with my children as we have family members and friends in the gay community and I hope that my children neither condone the lifestyle nor condemn those living it. But, I would prefer to be the one that teaches this to my children and not someone who's beliefs are different from what I will try to pass on to my children.

If I let someone else teach this to my children, how can I be sure they will teach the full spectrum? Chances are, they will not. While many Christians only teach one side of this issue, many liberals only teach the other. I would have my children accept and love people for who they are and hold accountable only those people who are part of the Body of Christ when they see them straying from the teachings of Christ. For those who are not part of the Body of Christ, I would have them love them, respect them and offer them grace and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Grace, love and peace to you.
