Faith Without Works

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 by Dan Carrington posted in Bible & Scripture, Christian Living | Comments Off

There seems to be, at least for me, a major disconnect with living out faith in Christ. It is not a problem of knowledge. I am quite certain that the claims of Christianity are true. There is no doubt in my mind that God exists, that He is who the Bible says He is, and that He has done for us what the Bible claims He has done. From that standpoint, one could say that my ...

Obama Signs Executive Order Ending Ban on Abortion Funding

Saturday, January 24th, 2009 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture, Political Issues | Comments Off

Since taking office, President Obama has been busy signing executive orders. One such order that was put through occurred on Friday when he ended the Bush administration's ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide information on the option. Liberal groups welcomed the decision, while abortion rights foes criticized the president.

Dead Sea Scrolls To Be Digitized and Placed Online

Sunday, August 31st, 2008 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | Comments Off

Israel Antiquities Authority, the keeper of the Dead Sea scrolls, has announced that they have begun a two-year process to digitally photograph every fragment of the more than 2,000-year-old ancient text and then make them available for all to see online. Although it is pretty basic knowledge that the scrolls exist, they have only been photographed once in the 1950s and actually seen by a handful of scholars. Now, thanks to the effort to place them ...

No Other Book as “Unique” as The Bible

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | 32 Comments »

The Holy Bible - God's Word. There is no other book like it on the face of the Earth, both now or throughout history. It is unique in its continuity, its translations, its circulation, its survival throughout the ages, its teachings and its influence. Here are some interesting facts that prove without a shadow of a doubt that the Bible is unique from all other books ever written.

Why I Believe The Bible Is God’s Word

Monday, July 28th, 2008 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | 6 Comments »

We had a really interesting discussion at our last Life Group meeting. We were discussing God's Word - The Holy Bible. One of the questions I posed to the group was, "Do you believe the Bible to be truth and if so why?" In other words, do you believe the Bible is God's Word and if so, how would you explain to an unbeliever the reasons why you believe the 66 books of the Bible, ...

Jesus Fulfilling Old Testament Prophecies

Monday, May 26th, 2008 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | 3 Comments »

I'm not sure exactly how many prophecies Jesus fulfilled during His life, death and resurrection but most theologians place it above 400. The Book of Matthew does the best job correlating Old Testament prophecy with Jesus' fulfillment of them. Let's examine what some of those are.

How the Old Testament Isaac Is a Type of Jesus

Monday, May 26th, 2008 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | 3 Comments »

Isaac of the Old Testament and Jesus Himself hold many similar characteristics. If you recall, Isaac was the promised son of Abraham that God had given him and his wife Sarah in their old age. From Isaac would be born Jacob and from Jacob, twelve sons who would become the the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel. Just as Isaac was the beginning of a people that God would call His own, Jesus was ...

Are You Forging Your Own Path To Heaven?

Monday, January 21st, 2008 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | Comments Off

Is there really only one way to Heaven? Jesus Christ himself, who was by the way God come in the flesh, stated such a fact when He said in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." However, it seems that many people, even people professing to be Christians, don't believe this according to an article published at The Christian Post Jesus as ...

Romans Chapter 8

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007 by Ty Wallace posted in Bible & Scripture | 2 Comments »

Romans Chapter 8 if probably one of my favorite chapters in the entire Bible. There is so much depth in the thirty-nine verses contained within. It's where we get scriptures like, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (8:1)," "all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose (8:28)," and "Who shall separate us from the love ...
